I got to spend a fun filled evening with the on Saturday, getting a behind the scenes look on how BC Chickens are raised, learning about the myths and realities, and sampling some amazing BBQ. Check out the trailer above for a sneak peak of what we were there to see...
The BC Chicken Growers’ Association and BC Chicken Marketing Board have found that 64% of British Columbians believe that hormones and steroids are added to the chicken they eat, yet this isn't the truth. In fact, the use of hormones and steroids in Canadian poultry has been banned for over fifty years, and a stringent provincial and federal licensing and inspection regime ensures those laws are upheld.
We got to see exactly where the chickens lived (running free around the barn eating, drinking and sleeping), and exactly the kind of awesome care they receive. ()

We moved over to Carousel Farms for a BBQ feast, but not before learning some tricks of the trade from expert  in a barbecue workshop, and sampling some great BC chicken.
There was a long table dinner with paella to start during the introductions, and slow grilled chicken from the giant BBQ that had been cooking our dinner all afternoon.
Near the end of dinner we were treated to a show by country singer Madeline Merlo:
And then finally we headed up to the hayloft to view the premier of the BC Chicken Squad movies...I have attached the episodes below for your viewing pleasure.
