Welcome to the latest series of Super, Neighbours blog posts where we highlight incredible travel destinations in British Columbia! |
Long weekends are upon us and the urge to travel and see new places is too. So I want to give you a taste of what I experienced when I stayed at .
When I was there in May the Villa was an amazing getaway after the hustle and whirlwind of the half-marathon. Perched up on a hill, you fall asleep to the sound of crickets and wake up to stunning views and gourmet breakfast...
that is a little larger than the rest...but all of them have amazing comfort and design. Soaker tubs and a gorgeous bathroom, soft comfy beds, private patios, fireplace, and all of the amenities you could possibly need in your little secluded room.
I started every morning with breakfast and tea on the balcony (you'll see that in the next post!) and sat and overlooked the magnificent view, which changed every day.
One day there were thunderstorms off in the distance (and hail in Oliver!) that you could see rumble across the landscape, the next day it was bright and sunny and green for miles.
I took full advantage of the soaker tub, as I do on most of my trips, with a glass of Hester Creek wine to boot. It's great to have a tub you can actually submerge your entire body into for once!
You can drive in and out of the private driveway amongst the vines, or, like I did, take a walk down the path (watch for wildlife! I saw deer, marmots and lots of grouse while I was there!). The driveway leads down to the tasting room (a must see) -where they sometimes , with amazing chefs from in and around BC - and then on to , the on-site, amazing restaurant, which you'll see in my next post.
As you can see above, the villas are really in a special area where you, and a couple neighbours, can have a perfect place to peacefully rest between days of sampling wine, eating amazing food, or adventuring in the area.
Huge thanks to the INCREDIBLE staff at Hester Creek for my stay, especially Melissa (who manages the villa) for being so awesome.
Come back to VIA tomorrow and make sure you're full because I have some delicious food and wine shots to share with you.
