A Metro Vancouver-based restaurant chain known for its Northwestern Chinese fare - particularly snacks and noodle dishes - once again has a 鶹ýӳlocation after two previous branches in the city have come and gone.
, which began in Richmond a decade ago, is now open, with a modern logo, look, and expanded offerings, at 4008 Cambie St in Riley Park.
The new restaurant marks a triumphant return to 鶹ýӳproper, as previously Old Xian had first a location at 3510 Kingsway in Killarney that was open until the end of 2021 and then added one in the West End at 1517 Robson that lasted about a year, from 2018 to 2019.
For its new Cambie Street location, Old Xian's Food is offering dine-in service in a modern space with lots of white tile, pale wood, and bold pops of red.
In addition to its menu of Northwestern Chinese fare, from platters of cumin lamb to its broad selection of noodles served with braised meat or in bubbling spicy soup, Old Xian's Food on Cambie has a retail section for grab-and-go items like bento boxes with curry pork chop, sandwiches, onigiri, as well as packaged snacks and bottled beverages.
Old Xian's Food Noodle & Mart, as it's now officially branded, took over the address that was the longtime home of Taiwanese spot Corner 23 Restaurant.
In addition to the new 鶹ýӳrestaurant, Old Xian has three other Metro locations: 1111-3779 Sexsmith in Richmond, 2133-4500 Kingsway in Burnaby, and C-501 North Road in Coquitlam.
Old Xian's new 鶹ýӳrestaurant debuted in soft-open mode on January 21, 2025. The hours are Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Guests who wish to dine in the restaurant can join the online waitlist (available ) to secure a table.
