The end of a delightful chapter for one casual Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»vegetarian restaurant is upon us, as announced Tuesday night (March 19) it will close permanently early next month.
"No clichés. No hard feelings," reads a message from The Arbor's owners, Paul McCloskey, Shira Blustein, and Scott Lewis on the veggie restaurant's Instagram feed.
"We think vegetables are rad, and it’s been our privilege to serve them to our community," continues the announcement, inviting guests to visit the Main Street restaurant one last time.
The Arbor opened in late 2016 at 3941 Main St and was a sibling project to nearby award-winning vegetarian spot The Acorn. It quickly became a reliable go-to for vegetarian and vegan comfort eats, and it boasted a charming hidden back patio perfect for soaking up some sunshine.
The menu centres on approachable meatless eats, with an emphasis on fresh and local ingredients deployed in a selection of share plates, like their popular fried mushrooms (evoking fried oysters), burgers, sandwiches, salads, and pasta dishes. One of The Arbor's calling card items is their Southern Fried Artichoke Sandwich, which is a tribute to how versatile veggies can be.
The Arbor's operators did not share their reasons for bringing the restaurant's 7.5-year run to an end.
"This isn’t just a farewell; it’s a celebration of all we’ve shared. We’re immensely grateful for the love and support you’ve given us. Let’s make these last days memorable together," shared McCloskey, Blustein, and Lewis.
The Arbor's last day is April 7.
