One of Vancouver's favourite food events, the 2023 Chowder Chowdown marks the exciting return of the delicious 19+ evening after a two-year pandemic pause.

Each chef is tasked with serving up their signature chowder using Ocean Wise-recommended seafood, while your job as a guest is to taste them all and cast your vote for your favourite.

Taking place Thursday, October 12, this year's Chowder Chowdown will be held at the Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre at UBC.

"With all the challenges facing our ocean today, it is important to take time to celebrate some of the great successes in sustainable seafood as well. Since its start over a decade ago – Chowder Chowdown has grown into one of Ocean Wise’s most popular events. Come enjoy great food and craft beer, all while supporting a great cause!" said Mike McDermid, Ocean Wise Fisheries and Seafood Director, in a media release.

The event is not only a tasty evening of chowder (and craft beer) but also a fundraiser to support Ocean Wise. It's also a great chance to experience the event in person after a couple of years of the DIY-style chowder festival that took its place while gatherings were on pause.
