The last oysters were shucked and the final pints poured at Chewies in Coal Harbour over the weekend, and now we already know what Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»restaurant operation is sliding into the space.
will expand its reach with a second location for its Spanish-Italian restaurant concept at 1055 W Hastings St.
The expansion is part of a larger plan for the Vancouver-based restaurant, which also operates Acquafarina and the also-expanding Ciclo Espresso brand, and is planning to debut a Toronto Per Se in 2024. Per Se will continue to operate its popular restaurant at 891 Homer St on the edge of Yaletown.
“I’m thrilled to announce this latest expansion,” said Fabrizio Foz, owner and operator of the Social Corner Group, in an April 24 media release. “We know we have something special with Per Se Social Corner and we are excited to bring this latest version of Per Se, one of many we have planned for Canada, to Coal Harbour later this year.”
The new Per Se restaurant in Coal Harbour will focus on the flavours and vibes from a pair of stunning European islands: Spain's Mallorca and Italy's Sicily.
The restaurant seats 212, including nearly 100 seats on the expansive patio space, which will be transformed by the Per Se team into an all-season terrace boasting grapevines, fig trees, and bougainvillea and a bocce court.
When it comes to food, expect seafood-centric brunch, lunch, and dinner menus including fresh oysters (a nod to Chewies), as well as Per Se's beloved burger (called, simply, The Burger) and their pizzas. Craft cocktails will be created by Per Se Bar Director Barry Jackson.
Per Se Social Corner in Coal Harbour is aiming to be open this fall and will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
