There's no longer a De Dutch breakfast restaurant near Vancouver's Olympic Village, but the business that's taken its place is still serving up the daytime eats.
Sunny Side Up slid into the space at 410 W 2nd Ave in January and is drawing breakfast - and deal - lovers with its menu of American-style breakfast plates.
The new spot has several egg-centric items on offer, like classic breakfast platters with eggs and your choice of meat with potatoes and toast, alongside a few Eggs Benny dishes, chicken and waffles, and avocado toast.
While the pricing runs about $12 to $19 per dish, Sunny Side Up is catching some fans with its $7.77 meal deal, which includes two eggs, ham, pan-fried potatoes, and toast, available from 7 to 11 a.m.
Come lunchtime, Sunny Side Up rolls out daily specials from its menu of midday eats priced at $10.99 each, including a smashburger, pasta dishes, or fried rice.
The closure of the West 2nd Avenue De Dutch follows closely on the heels of the closure of a North Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»location of the Dutch pancake and breakfast chain. There are nine remaining Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»De Dutch locations, including two located in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»proper (Convention Centre and Oak Street). The chain began in 1975 in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»with a location on Knight Street at 25th.
