In January 2021 - a whopping three years ago - Filipino fast-food chain revealed plans to open in Surrey's Strawberry Hill neighbourhood.
At the time, it would have been the second-planned Metro 麻豆传媒映画location of the beloved quick-service restaurants. In the works since 2020, the first Metro 麻豆传媒映画Jollibee location ultimately opened its doors to customers on Feb. 25, 2022 on Granville Street in the downtown entertainment zone.
As the new 3,347 square foot build at 12101 72nd Ave at the Strawberry Hill mall property owned by RioCan was under construction, an additional two Metro 麻豆传媒映画locations made their debuts: One in Surrey's Central City area and another in 麻豆传媒映画at Broadway and Cambie.
With an opening day set for Thursday, Jan. 25, the Surrey Strawberry Hill location will be the fourth Jollibee in the Metro 麻豆传媒映画region, but it represents another milestone for the fast-food franchise: It will be the chain's 100th North American restaurant.
“The support we received when we opened our first Surrey location in 2023 was incredible to witness,” said鈥疢aribeth Dela Cruz, President, Jollibee North America, in a press release.
“The fans here in British Columbia are amazing, and we’re thrilled to be celebrating our 100th store location in such a vibrant and welcoming community."
What to expect at Jollibee in Surrey's Strawberry Hill
Beloved for its spaghetti, crispy chicken, burgers, and peach mango pies, Jollibee is all about American-style fast food fused with Filipino flavours and influences. Their menu includes items with cult followings like the Yumburger and a fried chicken sandwich, and their spaghetti features a sweeter Americanized tomato sauce with sliced hot dogs and cheese on top.
The Strawberry Hill Jollibee features a contemporary design by Vancouver's WA Architects. The franchise will offer dine-in, take-out, and online ordering options - for pick up only - once the store has opened. The restaurant will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
The first 100 customers at the Strawberry Hill location on Thursday will be awarded with free goodies (with a purchase of $30 or more). Jollibee is known for drawing massive lines and rewarding fans who queue up to be among the first to order up at a new restaurant outpost.
