It has been two-and-a-half years since Odd Burger announced a 鶹ýӳlocation was coming, but the wait is nearly over.
The vegan burger chain will be opening its first location in 鶹ýӳ(and second in B.C., after Victoria) .
"The grand opening of our new location at 2821 Main St., Vancouver, B.C., will be on Saturday, Nov. 23," reads a from the Odd Burger.
The grand opening, which runs from noon to 6 p.m., will include discounted ice cream and a ribbon cutting at noon.
The Odd Burger menu offers several kinds of burgers, including riffs on high-profile fast food classics (the Famous burger with its double meat and cheese, secret sauce, and shredded lettuce looks like something from the "Golden Arches," while the Vopper's name immediately calls to mind a royally popular burger).
Launched in 2014 as a produce delivery service, which morphed into a plant-based meal kit business, Odd Burger has grown from its grassroots start to a staple in vegan fast food in its native Ontario.
Currently, it has 13 locations in its home province, along with two in Alberta and one in Saskatchewan (and the aforementioned Victoria spot). Five more are coming soon, including the 鶹ýӳlocation.
In a press release, Odd Burger has also announced a food truck is planned for the Metro 鶹ýӳmarket.
"[Odd Burger] will also be launching its first food truck in Vancouver," reads the release. "Construction of the food truck is largely complete, and the truck is expected to be operating at select sites in and around 鶹ýӳas well as various festivals and events."
The food truck is expected to be on the road by December.
