After a successful launch just over a year ago in downtown Vancouver, the Japanese born global chain that specializes in "soupless" ramen has added a second Metro 鶹ýӳlocation to their portfolio.

recently opened the doors to their North 鶹ýӳfranchise. Situated at 100 1st Street East, the North Van Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba is right in the heart of the busy shopping and dining district, and is on the corner of Lonsdale Avenue.

The restaurant chain is best known for their loaded noodle bowls that are done in the "dry" or "soupless" ramen style. This "Japanese-style mixed soba" uses thick and chewy house-made multi-grain soba noodles, loaded with your choice of toppings, including a signature spicy iteration with meat and egg yolk, a "Tantan" style, a cheese version, the fully-loaded "Zenbu," a vegan option, and more.

Additionally, Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba makes more traditional soup ramen (i.e. tonkotsu, tantan, vegan and so on), as well as rice bowls, and appetizers (chicken karaage, gyoza, takoyaki).

One other item the chain is known for are their Hokkaido Creme cones and cups, a creamy Japanese ice cream - the ice cream was marked as being not quite yet available at the new location on a menu posted at their North 鶹ýӳspot as of Oct. 20, so check with the restaurant if you absolutely must finish up your meal with their ice cream so as not to be disappointed when you visit.

The new Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba location joins the increasing ranks of ramen options in the area. Earlier this year, Hachiro Ramen opened up in the Lower Lonsdale area, and has been very well-received by diners.
