After 17 years on Kingsway, McKim Wonton Mein Saga has closed.
The long-time restaurant known for its casual Chinese fare has been serving people at 2780 Kingsway (near Earles Street) since 2008. The restaurant closed March 9, according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page.
"Thank you for your continued support and business all these years," reads the note. "We will be closing the restaurant permanently."
On the restaurant's Yelp page, many people wrote about McKim's wontons, congee, and noodles.
Customers have been sharing memories of McKim Wonton Mein Saga on other forums, like Google Reviews.
"I've been coming here for almost 20 years and remember when they were still at their old location in Richmond," . "They will truly be missed."
A new restaurant business license has been filed with the city for the Kingsway address, but no business name is attached, just a numbered corporation.
At the same time, the property appears to be up for sale. A real estate listing for 2780 Kingsway lists the property for $3.3 million and notes it may be of interest to developers and investors; other neighbouring properties could be included.
