Look out, Kitsilano, you're getting a new plant-based eatery:Â is opening their second location in the former Culprit Coffee spot.
Located at 2028 Vine Street, the brick exterior space is undergoing some serious hands-on renovation. If you follow Kokomo owner Katie Ruddell on Instagram you may have gotten a glimpse of the process as she and some very generous loved ones have been putting in time tackling the inside and outside of the former cafe.
Gone is Culprit's bright yellow outside wall, too. We don't know yet if Kokomo in Kits will match the cool vibes and palette of the Chinatown OG, which definitely makes great use of pink. Culprit moved out of the space in September 2017 after a 5-year tenure.
Kokomo is known for their plant-based menu of bowls, offering everything from fruit and nut-laden acai bowls to grain bowls, salads, and soups. They are also beloved for their smoothies and other snacks, including the dairy-free Aussie soft serve, Coco Whip.
We'll get some details hopefully soon about what's in store at the second Kokomo, though they do say they plan to open this summer.
