King Taps sets opening date for first Metro 鶹ýӳrestaurant location

The buzzy brand will also soon open an outpost in a high-profile spot on the North Shore.

King Taps, the buzzy laid-back sibling concept from the Cactus Club family, will soon be serving guests at its first location in Metro Vancouver.

The brand has set Thursday, April 3, as the opening date of its .

Cactus Club opened its first King Taps in downtown Toronto in 2017 and a Kelowna location in 2022. In addition to the Langley outpost, King Taps is at work completing its renovation of a 10,000-square-foot two-storey space in the revitalized Lonsdale Quay project in North Vancouver, which will be the next in the chain to debut.

In Langley, King Taps is situated in a newly built 11,000-square-foot freestanding space with seating for over 340 guests across the interior lounge and dining rooms, plus an enclosed all-season patio and an open-air deck. The space was designed by McKinley Studios and has a modern but welcoming look, with "organic textures, lush greenery, warm lighting, and a curated collection of incredible artwork from Canadian artists including Graham Gillmore, Tyler Toews, and Jason Dussault," according to a media release issued Tuesday, March 25.

The King Taps menu is about approachable eats, with starters like mini Nashville-style fried chicken sandwiches and salads, along with mains like pasta, steak, tacos, burgers, and sandwiches. However, King Taps' signature offering is its pizza, which is available in nearly a dozen iterations, including the popular "Stinging Bee," with soppressata, kalamata olives, and Calabrian honey, as well as modifications like gluten-free crust and dipping sauces (for an additional charge).

From the bar, expect regional craft beers and wines as well as cider, classic cocktails, sugar-free margaritas, and even a large sangria for sharing.

King Taps also does weekend brunch and has some Happy Hour deals, both afternoon and late-night. Happy Hour runs daily from 2 to 5 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. to close with $5 signature beers and highballs, $10 cocktails, $5 off pizzas and share plates, and half-price wine bottles.

The Willowbrook King Taps is also hoping to be a beacon for sports lovers, with its 14 TVs and three projectors, all set to show the latest NFL, NHL, NBA action (and more).

Additionally, the new restaurant has a dedicated take-out window to make picking up your meal to go (or for delivery app workers to do the same before heading to you) easier.

The new King Taps at Willowbrook is located at 6141 200 St in Langley and will be open Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to midnight; Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
