Last week, Vancouver's casual Japanese-Mexican fusion restaurant revealed it was opening a second outpost in Burnaby.
Now the indie biz has followed up with a second announcement that impacts its 鶹ýӳcustomer base: Miso Taco is moving out of its Chinatown space and will reopen in Cambie Village.
This fall, Miso Taco will start calling 3456 Cambie St home; the address had been the modern Pacific Northwest spot Black Walnut until that restaurant shuttered at the end of July after just shy of a one-year run.
Until the move on September 1, Miso Taco will remain open at its original location at 219 Union St. The restaurant on social media, adding that North Vancouver's La Cervca Astilleros will be taking over Miso Taco's wine and beer menu for the rest of August, too.
Miso Taco came on the scene in June 2023, moving into the Chinatown space that had briefly served as The Darkside just prior and had been The Union for quite some time ahead of that.
The menu mashes up familiar items and flavours from Mexican and Japanese dining, which means you can tuck into dishes like tacos loaded with fried cod chunks with a miso dressing or chicken karaage with tonkotsu sauce, or burrito-style wraps with ramen noodles.
Though Miso Taco predominantly fuses its Mexican staples with Japanese flavours, there is a little wiggle room for them to work in other pan-Asian aspects here and there, so not everything is purely Mexican-Japanese.
