Treat your tastebuds to a trip to Japan without leaving Vancouver, thanks to the annual Japan Food Fair.

Hosted by the 鶹ýӳBuddhist Temple, this “spring bazaar”-style event features heaps of traditional Japanese fare like maki (roll) sushi, nigiri sushi, chicken teriyaki, ohagi (sweet sticky rice balls), manju (Japanese steamed cake), udon noodles, and much more, all at affordable prices.

The Japan Food Fair takes place on Sunday, March 1, from noon to 2 pm, making it the ideal lunch destination if you’re in the area of the 鶹ýӳBuddhist Temple on the east side of town.

Admission is free, and the event is family-friendly.

Organizers suggest showing up early, as tables fill up fast.

Where: 鶹ýӳBuddhist Temple – 220 Jackson Avenue, Vancouver

Cost: Free admission; pay for your food. Cash only
