There are plenty of spooky Halloween treats hiding around Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­in 2023, from cookie monsters and costumed cream puffs to chocolate pumpkins and limited-time donuts.

Here's something sweet to sink your fangs into!

While not everyone can go trick-or-treating for some sweet goodies on Halloween, there are plenty of spooky desserts hiding in bakeries and cafes around Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­that are worth seeking out.

Home to the best donuts in Canada, Mello has a limited-time batch of stuffed Halloween donuts. Choose from black cocoa brioche bursting with cookies and cream filling and Halloween candy or regular brioche stuffed with marshmallow and raspberry jam filling and dipped in chocolate. Scary cookies n' cream souffle pancakes are a Halloween tradition at Fufu Pancake Cafe. This year, the cafe is changing up the Halloween recipe for the Ube-lieve In The Great Pumpkin Souffle Pancake. The dish features three stacked souffle pancakes, layers of house-made ube and kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) puree, and is topped with whipped cream, berries, strawberry powder, ghostly meringue decorations, and vanilla ice cream topped with sweet mochi. The French luxury patisserie released its limited-edition Halloween popcorn tart again this year (as well as the Halloween macaron box). The butter tartlet is filled with almond cream and macadamia nuts and layered with roasted praline and popcorn miso caramel, topped with whipped corn ganache and a delicate chocolate bat. This literally chilling treat is a "frighteningly delicious" Halloween flavour too -- Ghost Chocolate. The local ice cream shop has partnered with East Van Roasters to use leftover cacao shells (the beans are sourced from an organic and fair trade co-op in Peru) to create a light, earthy, chocolate flavour. Use their  to see where it's scooping. 

The makers of these decadent cookies have added three scarily sweet flavours to the menu. The Creepy Chocolate Cheesecake cookie is a chocolate cookie dough loaded with white chocolate chunks and milk chocolate chips and stuffed with red cheesecake frosting. The Franken Cookie is a bright green cookie loaded with M&M's, mini eggs, milk chocolate chunks, Oreo cookies, potato chips, and cheesecake Chipits. The Spooky Chocolate Caramilk is a chocolate cookie loaded with milk chocolate chunks and salted caramel chips and stuffed with Caramilk Bar and gooey caramel, and topped off with a spooky face.

The B.C.-founded chocolatier is coming through with a parade of Halloween sweets, from smashable chocolate pumpkins and skulls full of individually foil-wrapped chocolates to yummy mummies and chocolate "suckers."

These cream puffs are dressing up as spirits, sprites, and demons for Halloween. Meet Beta5's cream puff crew: Totoro (Vietnamese coffee), Soot Sprite (coconut and pandan), Calcifer (Shanghai Fog), Pumpkin (kabocha spiced latte), Kodama (mango milk tea), No Face (raspberry earl grey), and three variations of the Halloween cream puff -- salted caramel, vanilla, and chocolate.
