Food cart Chai Wagon opening first brick-and-mortar Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»shop

A new spot for a cup of chai and a snack

Known for its authentic Indian chai beverages, Vancouver's roaming will soon be serving tea fans from its very first permanent shop.

Chai Wagon is moving into a retail space at Main and 2nd (in the same building as Mr Sushi) at 196 E 2nd Ave.

After nearly a year of waiting, opening day has been set for Friday, June 7 at 3 p.m.

The Chai Wagon cart is a cheery orange fixture in the city, serving up steaming hot tea, like ginger chai or vegan chai. They also make and sell a chai concentrate for making your own tea drinks at home, and you can snack on things like Nutella or paneer sandwiches from the cart.

"There's nothing more Indian than chai," shares the proud Chai Wagon owner on social media about the growth of his business and what it means for him and his culture.

"Each and every guest will be treated with utmost respect," he adds of what customers can expect at the new Chai Wagon store.

Rain or shine (or snow) the Chai Wagon cart can be found set up at 2308 Cambie St, not too far from its new location.

In August 2023, Chai Wagon told V.I.A. by email the business was in the planning stages and did not have information to share about the venture.
