After years of working at farmers' markets and selling online, Lisa Virtue's own brick-and-mortar gluten-free bakery is coming soon.
A regular at area markets for the past six years, Virtue Natural Bakery will have a storefront this fall in Kitsilano, according to the baker's Instagram. Located at 2245 West Broadway, the bakery is fittingly taking over the former location of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.
The new bakery will also offer baked goods for people with all sorts of dietary needs. While gluten-free baking is the focus, there will also be dairy-free, egg-free, and low-sugar options.
"Virtue Natural Bakery is a place where everyone can enjoy handcrafted baked goods, whether or not you eat gluten," states the bakery's website.
A specific opening date hasn't been announced. Signs on the windows and website indicate the shop is still looking for employees.
