Two different local businesses are betting downtown Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is down for more donair.
Signs are up for Mr Greek Donair Kabab and Fresh Donair not far from each other.
At 1206 Davie St. Mr Greek Donair Kabab is already open in the former home of a Al Basha (a different shop that sold kebabs and donair) which opened in 2017. Prior to that it was Mango Thai and Teppan Kitchen.
Mr. Greek has four other locations across the lower mainland, from White Rock to downtown Vancouver. It's not connected to an Ontario chain with the same name.
At the same time, a late night spot on the Granville Strip is opening a second location on Robson Street.
Fresh Donair, which has been at 1009 Granville St. since 2018, is opening at 1280 Robson Street, next to the incoming Hello Kitty Cafe.
The new donair shop is taking over from a Juewei Foods outpost. The company, from Chansha, China, had been selling its snacks from the location since 2022.
It shuttered earlier this year.
