A new whiskey-focused bar is on its way in Vancouver, and it's being done by the same creative cocktailian minds of the popular Shameful Tiki Room.
The Dark Manor Inn is being prepped at 4298 Fraser Street, taking over the space that for many years was Sunlock Garden, a popular neighbourhood Chinese restaurant. While Sunlock Garden closed at the end of May, the new Dark Manor Inn crew have moved in, and are making short work of renovating the space at the corner of 27th Avenue.
There's certainly a spooky element to this forthcoming spot, as the bar comes with a tall of a dead man poisoned over a century ago by his angry wife, who fled and was never seen again. Well (cue maniacal laughter?) maybe not until now.
Hopefully we will have more information soon about this exciting boozy development in the local bar scene.
This stretch of the Fraser Street corridor has some noteworthy spots, including the recently-opened Escobar, a Prado cafe outpost, the critically-acclaimed Bows x Arrows, and just a bit further north, Nammos Estiatorio and Earnest Ice Cream, to name a few.
UPDATE: Looks like The Dark Manor Inn is !
