A local coffee shop business has opened the doors at its newest location.
Prado Café is up and running as of Monday (April 15), located in a new build in Vancouver's Dunbar area.
is a mixed-use development located on Dunbar at 28th Avenue. Plans for Prado to move in were revealed just under a year ago during construction.
Prado Café occupies a ground-floor space in the multi-unit building at 4498 Dunbar St, which also boasts an outdoor public plaza.
Prado Cafe locations serve drip and espresso coffees using their own Prado Coffee beans, tea, and other hot and cold beverages, as well as baked goods and casual lunch-centric fare like sandwiches and avocado toasts.
Though the brand Prado began in 2004, in 2011 it was taken over by award-winning barista Sammy Piccolo. There are six other Prado locations across Metro Vancouver: Four (including the original one on Commercial Drive) in Vancouver, and one each in Burnaby (Still Creek) and Surrey (Civic Plaza).
A former Prado Café in Tsawwassen in the Southlands closed earlier this year, however, the space remains a coffee shop; the new business is another location of the South Delta-based L'aromas family of bakery-cafes.
The new Prado Café Dunbar will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.
