This Saturday's (Nov. 4) BC Lions game may result in more than an intense football match.
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Mayor Ken Sim has made a bet with the Mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondek, ahead of the CFL West Semi-Final game between the BC Lions and Calgary Stampeders.
In a video shared to the BC Lions' Instagram on Nov. 2, Sim wore the football team's jersey as he revealed the consequences of the bet.
He begins by calling Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»"the greatest city in Canada, in fact, the world," before confidently saying that "the BC Lions are going to beat those stinking rotten, good for nothing Stampeders on Saturday."
What happens if the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»team loses? In that case, Sim says he's going to wear a Calgary Stampeders jersey at city hall and proclaim the day Calgary Stampeder Day in Vancouver.
"But that's not going to happen," the mayor adds.
While he didn't share what will happen if the BC Lions win, Sim urged Vancouverites to come show support for the team on Saturday.
