Here is what to know about 3 massive tulip festivals in bloom near Vancouver

These farms offer millions of tulips spread over dozens of acres.

People in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­have three places nearby to check out vibrant tulip fields in spring 2024, including events in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Agassiz.

People living in the Lower Mainland have three places nearby to check out vibrant tulip fields.

Tulip season kicked off early in the region this year, with Abbotsford's Lakeland Farms announcing an early April 6 start date for its annual festival.

Lakeland Flower Abbotsford Tulip Festival

Part of the Abbotsford Summer Flower Festival, the Lakeland Flowers Tulip Festival is the largest of its kind in Western Canada, offering 35 acres of tulips and fields of flowers with over 100 varieties of tulips.

In addition to tulips, festival-goers can feast their eyes on over 30 acres of peonies, lupins, Siberian wallflowers, and lavender in May and June (these flowers won't all be out in April).

There are walking trails and places to snap breathtaking photographs on raised viewing platforms and fun items like baby grand pianos, giant shoes and swings to use as props.

The tentative opening date was April 15 but the festival opened early on April 6 due to better conditions. 

When: Now through May 12 (open from dawn to dusk)

Where: Lakeland Flowers - 3663 Marion Rd, Abbotsford

Cost: Ticket prices will range from $8 to $25. .

Harrison Tulip Festival

Harrison kicked off its festival early on April 6 at Onos Farms in Agassiz.

Organizers of the inaugural  say 10 million bulbs will be part of the new event. While tulips will be the main focus, it'll feature other flowers and plants, including fruit and nut trees.

The festival will showcase over 50 tulip varieties, 15 double daffodil varieties, and a dozen varieties of hyacinths and offer a variety of items to use as props or settings for photos.

The festival will also host some  offering mini-sessions over this season, such as one specializing in pets and another in families. 

When: Now through May 5

Where: Onos Farms - 5039 Lougheed Hwy, Agassiz

Cost: Adult $17; Seniors (65+) & People with a Disability $12; Youth (13-18) & Students with Valid Student ID $12; and Child (3-12) $10. .

Also known as the Chilliwack Tulip Festival, the Botanica Tulip Festival is ready to showcase a "newly envisioned event" in the Fraser Valley. 

The flowers are spread over 13 acres, offering over 1.5 million bulbs and showcasing 59 unique varieties of tulips.

Botanica's approach involves transforming "organic waste into stable carbon, preventing the release of harmful carbon dioxide. This stored carbon remains in the soil, actively reducing greenhouse gas levels and improving soil quality," according to a release.

There will also be an area for visitors to pick their tulips.

When: April 12 through May 12

Where: Botanica Tulip Festival - 41310 Royalwood Dr, Chilliwack

Cost: Pricing for children & youth (5-15) varies from $10-$20, adults (16-64) $12-$25 and seniors (65+) $10-$20. Infants & toddlers (0-4) can access the festival for free
