This dazzling Cirque du Soleil show is coming to 鶹ýӳ(PHOTOS)

It features a Grammy-nominated soundtrack, surreal costumes, and awe-inspiring acrobatics

A breathtaking Cirque du Soleil show will dazzle 鶹ýӳaudiences in the new year.

The world-renounced contemporary circus company announced its return to the stage this month, following 10 weeks of rehearsals.

Starting March 25, 2022, the Cirque du Soleil will bring its internationally-acclaimed production 𲵰́ to the Big Top at Concord Pacific Place. The fan-favourite show has been "entirely redesigned" and is presented by Sun Life Global Investments.

“鶹ýӳhas always been a special place for us and we're ready to be reunited with Cirque du Soleil fans in British Columbia,” said Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group. “For over 20 months, our touring shows around the world were shut down and we are very excited to see the lights finally come back on - intermission is over.”

On Nov. 17, 𲵰́ successfully resumed performances marking the return of Cirque du Soleil touring shows worldwide. Following engagements in Houston and Seattle, 鶹ýӳwill be the third city it visits.

𲵰́ is described as an uplifting immersive experience that "whisks audiences away to a mystical world sprinkled with visual poetry and acrobatic extravagance."

The story is about a once-glorious kingdom that has lost its king. Now, there is a power struggle between the "old order and a new movement yearning for hope and renewal."

Equipped with a moving soundtrack, awe-inspiring acrobatics, "surreal" costumes, vibrant sets, and "playful humour," organizers say the show "joyfully touches the soul."

First premiered in 1994, 𲵰́ — which means "joy" in Spanish — is regarded as one of the most beloved Cirque du Soleil shows. It features a Grammy-nominated soundtrack and is the most purchased and streamed Cirque du Soleil album to date.

In 2019, in celebration of its 25th anniversary, 𲵰́ was restaged under the Big Top in a whole new light, ensuring that all its components – stage direction, music, acrobatics, sets, costumes, lighting and makeup designs – would be as inspiring for today’s audiences. Reenergized by a cast of 53 acrobats, clowns, musicians and singers, 𲵰́ remains timeless and imbued with a joyous magical feeling.

Tickets for 鶹ýӳperformances of 𲵰́ are available online, exclusively to Cirque Club members. For a free and easy subscription, visit Cirque Club .

General on-sale starts on Dec. 10 with Cirque du Soleil .
