In case you missed last night's fireworks, it was the UK's turn to light up Vancouver's night sky over English Bay. Their presentation was a well-timed dance of music and pyrotechnics entitled, "Parasols Over The Pacific." The soundtrack was a bit clichéd as far as fireworks competitions go, but suitably rousing.
Even though the fireworks were quite spectacular, I think last night will be most memorable for the thickness of the night air, courtesy of the hottest July 29th on record in Vancouver! Don't forget, this year's Celebration of Lights concludes Saturday with perenial powerhouse, China. Should be another hot one! More photos after the break...
