'Tis the season for merriment, and the most festive time of year gets underway in Richmond.

As evening falls, the venue will be set aglow with 275,000 glittering lights, including on their show-stopping 52-foot Christmas tree.
The big man in red himself will make his grand entrance for "the big switch on" of sparkling tree lights. As a delightful bonus for those with children, Santa Claus will pose for one photo with the littles who can whisper their gift wishes to him for one hour following the lighting ceremony.
An air of real festivity will be all around, complete with Christmas carols performed live and a chance to write your holiday wish list. And of course, those who are truly ready to get things going may want to do some shopping and tick a few items of their giving lists.
