Your chance to immerse yourself in an afternoon of South Asian culture is coming up this month, thanks to free block party-style event in Vancouver's historic Punjabi Market neighbourhood.
Punjabi Market Live is back with a huge outdoor party on Sunday, August 27 as a highlight of the 8th annual .
The festivities will take place in the heart of and run from noon to 6 p.m.
The event will feature live performances, dance, music, fashion, food, visual art, and more.
The festival will be hosted by CBC's Baneet Braich and some of the performers include Cinnamon Sandhu, Pav Dharia, and NY Virtuoso.
Visitors will have the chance to experience traditional dishes from local restaurants and food trucks. Chai and jalebi, a popular Indian sweet will be provided for free.
The festival will also have a new addition, The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Canucks and Warriors Kids Zone, where the Canucks mascot will be on hand for pictures.
The Punjabi Market Live is organized by Punjabi Market Collective, a group of advocates, artists, students, and entrepreneurs working towards beautifying the market and creating a hub for arts and culture.
