Every August, West 4th throws a big '60s themed street party commemorating Kitsilano's hippie heritage. Having spent 3 summers working retail at Arbutus, I've always experienced the event as a half hour lunch break listening to classic rock cover bands.
This year, Zulu is setting up a free stage and it's got a little something different going on. They've got , , , , and on from noon until 4ish on August 15th. If you have time, wander over to the macrame booth before the show starts and craft yourself a sweet headband.
