Vancouver's 'winter wonderland' illuminated garden event returns for its 40th holiday season

Featuring returning favourite and brand new features to light up the most festive time of year

Over a million twinkling lights will illuminate the 15 acres of Vancouver's famous gardens once again this holiday season as the returns to VanDusen Botanical Garden for a dazzling 40th anniversary season.

Taking place November 29, 2024, through January 5, 2025, the awe-inspiring family-friendly event will feature returning favourite features, like the Dancing Lights (a display set to music running every 20 minutes each evening), themed areas, and food trucks.

New features for 2024 include an interactive mycelium installation and a spectacular multi-sensory display inspired by the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia.

On December 3, the Festival of Lights will offer a special sensory-friendly evening, welcoming neurodiverse individuals, their families, and caregivers. Capacity will be reduced by 50 per cent, with lowered audio levels and no flashing lights.

The ticketed event runs nightly from 4 to 10 p.m. with the final entry time for guests between 8:30 and 9 p.m. The venue will be closed on Christmas Day (December 25).
