Have some books lying around home or the office you don't want anymore? The group is organizing a book drive to support the and they'll gladly take those books off your hands.
The Friends of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Public Library is a community of library lovers who advocate and raise money for the VPL.
They are organizing the book drive at VPL Central for people to donate books they have sitting around, collecting dust and don't need anymore.
The donations are for a book sale in September, with all proceeds of the sale going towards the city's libraries.
They love donations of books, CDs, and DVDs in good condition, but they don't accept items with mold or water damage.
Friends of the VPL also do not accept textbooks, spiral-bound publications, VHS, cassettes, encyclopedia sets, or magazines for the book drive.
Drop your book donations off on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Aug. 24 to Sept. 10, on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the VPL Central loading bay (off Hamilton) in downtown Vancouver.
