More Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­grocery and drug store employees test positive for COVID-19

Several more staff members at major grocery and drugstore chains operating in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Several more staff members at major grocery and drugstore chains operating in Metro Vancouver have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). 

Loblaw Companies Ltd, the parent company of retailers Shoppers Drug Mart provided an update to its  on Nov. 24. Additionally, the Loblaw-owned T&T Supermarket updated their own  for test-positive cases.

The following stores are affected:

  • Shoppers Drug Mart, 7322 King George Blvd, Surrey: The last day the team member worked was on November 19.
  • T&T Supermarket, #2740-Barnet Hwy, Coquitlam: The last day the associate worked was on November 19.

Sobeys, Inc, the parent company of FreshCo, has indicated that a franchisee employee at a Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­location of their Chalo FreshCo stores has received positive COVID-19 test results:

  • Chalo FreshCo, 7165 138 Street, Surrey: The last day the employee worked was November 13.

None of the store locations are considered public exposure sites by Fraser Health. 

Sobeys and Loblaw Companies Ltd. are the two major grocery retailers operating in B.C. that publish employee COVID case information and store location details online.

Loblaw operates high-profile stores such as Real Canadian Superstore, City Market, and No Frills in B.C., while Sobeys, Inc. operates Safeway, Thrifty's, and FreshCo in the province.
