Who works in Gastown, besides a cadre of fashionistas, furniture snobs, and maple syrup merchants? Techies! Each year, our friends at New Media BC bring us the PopVox Awards (from vox populi , Latin for "voice of the people").

Chances are at least some of you readers work in digital media and might not have heard about this . We've added all of the events to the calendar in case you're interested...

I took a tour of the Timebomb Trading offices yesterday and was really stoked on not only the hospitality but the awesome collection of art installs they've got on the walls there. Also, not-so-coincidentally, I ran into V.I.A.

V.I.A. Imprint is an ongoing feature concerning book and magazine publishers, book stores, and all things print in this city of ours. At the bustling Gastown corner of Abbott and Water is a heavy-duty and well fortified news box.

The Lowercase Reading Room is basically a tiny little room hidden inside The Regional Assembly of Text store on Main street containing a million (almost literally) zines and booklets and hand made things that creative folks have created.

Issue 99 of Concrete Skateboardin g should be stacked up and ready for a free grab in skate shops across Canada right about now.

Six Cent Press is a local company specializing in the manufacturing of custom pin back buttons / button packaging & turn style vending machines; they've been involved in the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­community since ‘01 and continue to reinvest in this project /
