Hey friends. Today's Van City Kitty, in honour of the season, is in the vein of "the Grinch's heart grew three sizes that day." I'm pleased to introduce you to very-special Lemon the Cat! I'll let Lemon's human, VIA reader Merrianne Couture, tell the story:
|
|
Name: Lemon |
Breed/Colouring: Orange Tabby, with yellow, lemony eyes
Hood: Kits
Habits: Chewing his nails, sitting in front of a mirror, staring into space, playing with his assortment of toys and gifts from his growing number of fans. He's very social and loves other cats and children (! -- weird, but true).
Hangouts: On the couch, doorway, on my shoulder. We haven't figured out a way to get him to perch at a window without disastrous consequences.
Other info: I'm new to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and in order to feel more at home, I  adopted Lemon  last summer when he was 7 months old. Lemon is a wobbler -- he has and his situation (though mercifully he doesn't know the difference) makes it extremely difficult for him to walk. His version of CH is pretty intense as far as I can tell, though it won't get worse and he'll learn to use his weight to balance more effectively as he matures.
Despite this, Lemon manages to motor all over the apartment, but it can be a little tricky for him to navigate slippery floors, the couch and gawd help him: stairs (we don't have any, so he has been spared this!) His mother was rescued by VOKRA when she was pregnant.
It took a bit longer for us to find Lemon, but we have and we've committed to the next 20 years of living with a special needs kitty. He just turned one on December 10.
He's sweetness and inspires anyone with limitations -- everyone can learn from Lemon the Cat.
Lemon has also been featured in a YouTube video, as ! He receivedhydro-therapy sessions in a pool to help exercise his legs while he was being fostered by VOKRA.
