Meet Fergus the Cat, sent in by VIA reader Aly Kelly. Here are the deets on Fergus:

|
Name: Fergus |
Breed/Colouring: "Classic red and white" Maine Coon
Hood: Point Grey
Habits: Eating his food, eating your food, knocking glass objects off shelves, chewing on decorative flowers, tipping over full water glasses/wine glasses, basking in the sun on top of the kitchen table, sleeping on your laptop when you need it the most, etc.
Hangouts: The kitchen, the kitchen table, the bathtub, in front of any vent, anywhere where food is abundant.
Other info: Fergus is a 26-pound cheeky house cat who doesn't take no for an answer. He is currently 11 years old and getting battier with age. He rules the roost at our house and has everybody working around his food schedule. Don't even try to enjoy a meal when he is in the room because he'll muscle his way in no matter what. He splays himself across the kitchen table and often shoves his face into our meals (mac and cheese, Caesar salad, hollendaise sauce, he doesn't discriminate). He is a diabetic and requires 2 insulin shots a day as a result of his compulsive eating. My mom has spent thousands of dollars on his little instruments, etc., and yet he continues to rip into cracker boxes and bread bags, completely disregarding the special diet he is supposed to be on.
Finally, we have resorted to giving him "lion shaves" twice a year because of the sheer amount of fur he has and his refusal to clean himself properly.
We feel blessed to share our house with Fergus the cat!
