A聽dead seal was spotted lying on a beach at the Garry Point Park in Richmond on Monday afternoon.
Stacy Song, who was visiting the park this afternoon, saw the seal鈥檚 cadaver deposited on a beach over on the west side of the Fisherman鈥檚 Memorial Monument around 3 p.m.

鈥淟ooks like it didn鈥檛 just die today, but I think it died not too long ago,鈥� Song told the聽Richmond News.
鈥淚t had a slight odour, but it was not very strong. There was no sign, and not many people noticed it 鈥� perhaps they thought it was a piece of wood.
It鈥檚 not apparent how the seal died.

Steveston Harbour Authority told the聽News聽the beach where the body was found is not in its jurisdiction, since Garry Point Park is the City of Richmond鈥檚 property.
