When it comes to Metro Vancouver's forecast this week, it's all good, according to Environment Canada meteorologist Yimei Li.
"It's just going to be a very pleasant week," she tells V.I.A.
Monday, April 14, will be the cloudiest day of the week, Li says, but even then, skies will be mainly sunny through the day as a ridge of high pressure forms.
And then it'll get sunnier, with little to no cloud expected Tuesday and Wednesday, she adds. However, all three days will remain cooler, with highs of around 13 C near the water and in the high teens further inland.
And then it'll get a little nicer.
"The ridge of high pressure will strengthen on Thursday and Friday," she says.
That means temperatures reaching into the low 20s for inland areas of Metro Vancouver. Beaches on the ocean will be a little cooler.
"So it's a very pleasant week all the way to Friday," says Li.
While daytime highs will get into the low 20s, she notes that overnight lows will still be in the single digits, as low as 6 or 7 C.
Easter long weekend forecast
The long weekend, starting April 18 with Good Friday, may start nicely, but the sunny weather is expected to break down over time.
"Beyond Friday, into the long weekend, we're seeing an upper trough moving in," says Li. "Temperatures will be lower, and there will potentially be some rain moving in on Sunday."
For those planning activities for the long weekend, the first half of the weekend will be better for anything outdoors.
