Wind warning issued for Burnaby, New West

Environment Canada says wind gusts could hit 90 km/h in parts of Metro Vancouver.

Hold onto your hats, Burnaby and New Westminster. 

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Metro Vancouver, including Burnaby and New West, for Monday night. 

The weather organization says that, ahead of a low-pressure system that will hit southern Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Island Monday night, southeasterly winds of 70 to 90 km/h will develop early this evening. 

Winds are expected to ease Tuesday morning.

The wind warning also covers Vancouver, West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Surrey, Langley, Greater Victoria, Southern Gulf Islands, East Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Island and Sunshine Coast.
