Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­forecast calls for up to 4 cm of snowfall tonight

The Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­weather forecast was calling for a chance of snow on Wednesday night, but now it calls for more snowfall than previously expected.

In fact, the forecast predicts that there may be an accumulation of 2 - 4 cm of snowfall overnight with a low of zero degrees. Environment Canada also notes that there is a 40 per cent chance of flurries that that will start falling around midnight. What's more, it calls for snowfall to continue throughout the night and into the morning.

Periods of snowfall are expected to end in the morning followed by cloudiness with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. In addition, the forecast predicts that up to 2 cm of snowfall may accumulate during this period.

The skies are expected to clear in the evening, however, and the temperature is expected to fall to a low of minus two. What's more, the forecast calls for five days of sunshine to follow.

Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­has seen some unusually cold temperatures this February. According to Environment Canada’s weather data for the month, the average temperature is a low of one degree. The region has seen temperatures as low as minus nine this month, with a wind chill of minus fourteen.

What’s more, the area has received over triple one month’s snowfall in the first two weeks. The average amount of snowfall for February is 6.3 cm; Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­received 22 cm and counting in that time period and counting.
