Goodbye, rain: Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­forecast calling for bright sunshine for the rest of the week

The Lower Mainland woke up to heavy rainfall on Monday, April 22, but the Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­weather forecast calls for sunshine for the rest of the week.

The Lower Mainland enjoyed a warm, sunny Easter long weekend, but woke up to heavy rainfall on Monday, April 22. However, the Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­weather forecast calls for bright sunshine throughout the rest of the week.

Monday's forecast calls for 10 to 20 mm of rainfall throughout the day followed by 5 mm of rainfall overnight. Following this, Tuesday's forecast calls for a 40 per cent chance of showers in the morning with clear skies in the evening.

The forecast calls for bright sunshine and warm temperatures on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. What's more, the weekend forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud on Saturday and Sunday.

Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Weather

On Wednesday, March 20, a jaw-dropping 48 weather records were broken across B.C. What’s more, some areas saw soaring highs of nearly 26°C.

For example, the Agassiz Area broke its old record of 21.7°C set in 1915 with a summery high of 25.8°C. Likewise, the Squamish Area broke its old record of 21°C set in 1999 with a toasty 25.9°C daily high.

Environment Canada has also stated that the presence of a weak El Niño will affect temperatures heading into summer. As such, the department expects that the province will see above average temperatures this summer.
