While the Lower Mainland has seen seen cooler weather this week, the Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»weather forecast calls for toasty temperatures this weekend.
Starting on Thursday, May 30, the forecast calls for a high of 21°C by the water and 24°C inland. However, Environment Canada notes that the temperature will feel much hotter, with a humidex 26°C inland. Similarly, Friday's forecast calls for a high of 21°C by the water and 26°C inland, but the temperature will feel more like 29°C inland.
Following this, Saturday is expected to see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 22°C and a low of 14°C. Sunday's forecast also calls for a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 21°C and a low of 14°C.
Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Weather Forecast
On Thursday, May 9 15 weather records were broken across the province and Squamish reached a sizzling high of 29.5°C. On the following day, Friday, May 10, a whopping 26 weather records were broken across B.C. and Pitt Meadows reached a toasty high of 29.3°C.
Environment Canada has also stated that the presence of a weak El Niño will affect temperatures heading into summer. As such, the department expects that the province will see above average temperatures this summer.
