Snowfall warning issued for parts of Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­and Fraser Valley

The long weekend's sun has already given way Tuesday morning to a fresh wave of cold, wet, and, in some places, snowy weather.

Environment Canada for parts of Metro Vancouver, covering Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Langley, and Surrey, where snow is expected to accumulate today. Similarly, the weather agency has issued a snowfall warning for west and central Fraser Valley, including Abbotsford and Chilliwack.

While the city of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­and immediate surrounding communities are not currently under a warning, we aren't entirely out of the woods, according to Environment Canada's forecast, which calls for periods of snow becoming mixed with rain early this afternoon.

In Vancouver, the predicted snowfall amount is 2 cm, and 4 cm over higher terrain.

Over night, we can also expected snow mixed with rain, with flurries tapering off Wednesday morning.

Snow remains in the forecast for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­for the duration of the week, with flurries or snowfall expected off and on through the weekend.
