A public display in Vancouver's Mount Pleasant neighbourhood is asking residents to celebrate the little things.
The sign reads, "What are the little things/treats that get you through these days?"
Passersby are encouraged to share them on a piece of paper shaped like a butterfly or flower; supplies are provided in a small mailbox. The interactive initiative seems rather popular, as the stationery needed restocking when V.I.A. paid a visit.
The messages range from heartfelt to hilarious.
Some touching examples are "Anytime I can sneak a hug in," "My beautiful girlfriend, Vanessa" and "My stuffy, Rupert."
Other lighthearted offerings include "Spicy Doritos and vodka," "Rewatching favourite cheesy movies (2012 is the best!)" or simply "Margaritas."
As COVID-19 continues to take a toll on people's mental health, many locals feel cathartic in sharing their suggestions at the site.
So the big question remains - what are you thankful for during the pandemic?
