He may be retired, but he's still rockin'.
For over 60 years, was a fixture in the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»broadcasting scene.
He was elected into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and was appointed to the Order Of British Columbia in 2016. The City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»even declared Red Robinson Day on March 30, 2017.
The legendary broadcaster retired from radio in 2011 but continued to broadcast his show on former local radio station CISL 650 AM until he finally hung up the mic for good in 2017.
But Robinson still finds ways to connect with all his fans. He now utilizes (with a little help from his friends) social media platforms, like Facebook, to share stories and post classic clips.
After interviewing hundreds of celebrities throughout his professional life, one stands out for the veteran rock DJ.
"Bill Haley, he's the guy that put together 'Rock Around The Clock.' He was a tremendous guy to interview. If you were interviewing him, he could give you chapter and verse everything to do with rock and roll," he reminisces.
While Robinson's claim to fame has become pop culture nostalgia, a certain irony remains when he recounts his expansive career.
"You can't look back in life, you've got to look forward. And I never tried to do that, except when I had the radio show. It's unbelievable what happened; it was like a fairy tale come true."
