Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»bookstore offers help to neighbouring diner (VIDEO)

When  owner Chris Brayshaw noticed his neighbouring business needed help, he stepped in.

The independent bookstore is located right beside diner on Vancouver's Main Street. The Wallflower had its outdoor patio extension denied by the city, due to major construction and parking protocols in the area.

So, Brayshaw offered up some of his storefront space (which is technically private property) for two tables, giving the eatery a total of three dining spaces outside.

While it may not seem like much, three tables make a big difference for a restaurant these days.

"It's good to know that they are supporting other local independent businesses. You don't know what's going to make the difference between survival and not," explains Wallflower owner Eric Neilson.

While Brayshaw is happy his own store is busy, he has a message for local residents: "Hospitality businesses need much more support currently than a bustling independent bookstore does."
