Life can be lonely when you're the one patient in a hospital.
Lola the Northern fur seal is currently the only critter at Vancouver's . This isn't typically a busy time of year for the centre, which usually cares for Harbour seals, so she gets plenty of attention.
Lola was found ashore on Salt Spring Island in January with congenital cataracts and is now awaiting surgery. Staff are hopeful she'll be released back into the wild in the next few months.
The centre rescues, rehabilitates, and releases over 150 marine mammals each year.
