B.C. Girl Guides resume in-person cookie sales (VIDEO)

Are you team chocolatey mint or classic vanilla and chocolate?

Sweet treats for a good cause are available at your door once again.

The have resumed in-person cookie sales after an 18-month hiatus.

COVID-19 saw the suspension of traditional door-to-door cookie selling, as many local retailers stepped in to lend the organization a helping hand.

Cookie sales are an integral part of Girl Guides' fundraising.

"We derive almost all of our revenue from the sale of cookies as an organization. We sell cookies to ensure that every girl can participate in Girl Guides," explains provincial commissioner Diamond Isinger.

This fall you can purchase the classic chocolate and vanilla variety, which are usually available in the spring. 

has been operating for over a century. B.C. currently has about 18,000 members.

Insinger says her group plays a key role in enriching the lives of girls and young women across the country.

"What we look like today may not be what your grandmother's experience was in Girl Guides. We want to empower every girl to be able to take action of her own to decide what she's most passionate about and how she's going to make a change in that way."
