Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»International Airport (YVR) announced a new tool to help travellers get to their gates on time ahead of Labour Day long weekend.

YVR TimeLine is a digital tool for passengers to find out whether they are at risk of missing their flights by scanning a QR code and inputting their flight number, according to a YVR .

These QR codes and instructions can be found on signs throughout security screening lanes at the airport.

If passengers are told they may miss their flights, they can speak to YVR staff who will help them get to their gate on time. The digital tool also includes a step-by-step guide to help people navigate the airport.

TimeLine is one of many tools the airport has launched in the last couple of years to help passengers save time at security and immigration. This includes mobile apps and systems such as YVR Express, Mobile Passport Control and ArriveCAN.

YVR airport is expecting more than 316,000 passengers during the long weekend from Sept. 1 to 4 — an increase of over 60,000 passengers compared to last year.

That said, travellers should arrive at the airport two hours ahead for domestic flights and three hours for U.S. and international flights.
