Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is the second-most popular city on Instagram in Canada based on hashtags.

B.C.'s biggest city has been ranked the second-most popular city on Instagram.

With over 26 million hashtags, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is Canada's second-most Instagrammable city, according to a study conducted by a Toronto real estate listing business called Greater Toronto Home Pros.

The company analyzed hashtags on Instagram to determine the most popular cities in Canada.

Toronto dwarfed Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»for popularity, however, with a whopping 55 million hashtags dedicated to the T-Dot. In addition to the city's most popular hashtag, which is the traditional #toronto, the report's authors note that there were a couple of other popular choices, including #torontocity, with over 113,000 posts, and #torontocityvibes, with over 19,000 of them.

"The posts on Instagram which use the hashtag #toronto are an array of scenic photographs taken of the mountains and the incredible skyline during both sunrise and sunset hours."

In addition to the popular #vancouver hashtag, another local favourite is #vancouvercity, which was included in 45,000 posts. Though not mentioned in the report, on Instagram is on the verge of crossing the two-million posts mark.

Vancouver's striking juxtaposition between modern skyscrapers and soaring mountain ranges makes it a social media darling. Additionally, many of the images show natural lakes and waterfalls, according to the report.

After Vancouver, Montreal was the third-most popular city in Canada, with over 20 million hashtags for the vibrant French city. Calgary followed Montreal in fourth but had less than half the number of hashtags, with under 9 million of them on the platform.

Canada's capital city, Ottawa, rounded out the top five, with just under eight million Instagram hashtags.

The findings indicate how a city "looks and feels for those who live and visit there," and can help people decide where they would like to live or visit, notes a spokesperson for the company behind the rankings.
