One of Canada's discount carriers is offering low-cost flights from Canada to all of its destinations in the United States and or tropical hotspots.
Swoop, WestJet's discount carrier, is offering 25 per cent off base fares to the U.S.A or any of its international destinations including Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan in Mexico, Kingston or Montego Bay in Jamaica, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, or Varadero in Cuba.
The sale is valid for travel from Feb. 25 to March 15 and tickets must be booked by 3:30 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 21). Use the promotional code MARDI25 to take advantage of the offer.
While Swoop doesn't fly to any U.S. destinations directly from the Abbotsford International Airport (YXX), there are many key cities that travellers can access via other Canadian airports.
For example, locals can connect to highly-sought vacation destinations such as Jamaica, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic via the Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in Toronto.

Since the base fare on the flight is $45.43 and 25 per cent of it ($11.36) can be subtracted from the final price. The final price works out to $107.64 including all taxes and fees
The United States is warning travellers to completely avoid travel to six Mexican states due to increasing violent crime and kidnapping; Los Cabos, however, is not located within one of those states.
While the Canadian government hasn't instated a "do not travel" warning, it advises tourists to avoid "all non-essential travel" to 13 areas across the country due to violence and organized crime. Travellers electing to go to Mazatlan in particular should exercise caution and are urged to stay within a resort property.
