Locals looking to dip their toes into the ocean of cruising without breaking the bank or committing to several days on a ship have an ideal option departing from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»this fall.

Pacific Coastal cruises take place after the Alaskan cruising season wraps up, repositioning vessels that were used during the busy summer season down south where they typically make trips out of California down to Mexico.

While Alaskan cruises notoriously cost a pretty penny, the repositioning ones typically cost a fraction of the cost. Additionally, they vary in length, meaning that you can choose one that only takes a few days to complete. If you select a short cruise, you can pair it with a few days in the city you depart from or sail to, depending on what direction you're sailing in.

A Princess Cruises sailing that departs Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»on Thursday, Oct. 19 spends a couple of days at sea before disembarking in San Francisco on Sunday, Oct. 22 for a fraction of what you'd pay for an Alaskan cruise.

Cruise Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to San Francisco at a steal with Princess Cruises

The total for two guests in an interior stateroom is $584.24 including all taxes and fees or $292.12 per person. Since the cruise is three days long, this works out to a per diem cost of under $100 per day at $97.37 per person.

Not only does that cost include your transportation on a beautiful five-star vessel, but it also includes meals, entertainment, snacks, and lodging. The only thing it doesn’t factor in is alcohol, but you may opt to purchase a drink package that can reduce the cost of your spending.

The cruise ship is the five-star Crown Princess, which offers four swimming pools, seven hot tubs, a live theatre, tennis, mini-golf, renowned spa treatments, movies under the stars, a jogging track, a video arcade, and much more.

The lead-in staterooms feature two twin beds or a queen-size bed. Other amenities include a refrigerator, hair dryer, TV, closet, and bathroom with shower.
